If multiple routing protocols provide routes to the same prefix (same length), AD breaks the tie.

Example: Two routes to 10.1.1.0/24

  • OSPF: 10.1.1.0/24, AD 110
  • EIGRP: 10.1.1.0/24, AD 90 ← Selected (lower AD)
