PortFast allows access ports to skip listening/learning and immediately forward traffic. Essential for end devices that need quick connectivity.
Switch(config)# interface GigabitEthernet0/1
Switch(config-if)# spanning-tree portfast
Enable globally for all access ports:
Switch(config)# spanning-tree portfast default
⚠️ Exam Trap: Never enable PortFast on ports connected to other switches—it can cause temporary loops during convergence.
