2.9.2. Anycast
An anycast address is assigned to multiple interfaces (usually on different devices), and traffic is routed to the nearest one. Used for redundancy and load distribution. Anycast has no prefix of its own: it is allocated from the unicast address space and is indistinguishable from a unicast address; it becomes anycast only when the same address is configured on several interfaces (the anycast keyword on IOS).
