5. Skin Care & Facial Treatments (20%)

Facial treatments are the core service an esthetician provides. Every step of a professional facial has a specific purpose — in the right sequence, each step prepares the skin for the next. This phase covers that sequence, the electrical devices used to enhance treatments, and the product knowledge that underpins every product selection decision.

The exam tests you on what each step accomplishes, the correct order of steps, contraindications for specific procedures, and what different devices do (and when not to use them).
