6.3.2.6. Lab 6: Remote Access Configuration (30 minutes)
Objective: Configure and test remote access methods.
Setup: Two computers on the same network (or one computer and a phone with RD client app)
Steps:

Enable Remote Desktop
- Open Settings > System > Remote Desktop
- Enable Remote Desktop (note the security warning)
- Note the PC name for connection
- Check Advanced settings - note Network Level Authentication setting

Test RDP Connection (if you have a second device)
- From another computer, open Remote Desktop Connection (
mstsc) - Enter the PC name or IP address
- Connect and authenticate with valid credentials
- From another computer, open Remote Desktop Connection (

Review RDP Security
- In Windows Defender Firewall, find the Remote Desktop rule
- Note which port it uses (TCP 3389)
- Consider: Why might an organization change this default port?
