7.2.1. Pre-built Models (Invoice and Receipt)

Pre-built models extract standard fields from common document types with zero training. Microsoft has already trained these models on millions of documents, so they work out of the box.

Invoice model extracts:

• Vendor name, address, tax ID
• Customer name, billing address
• Invoice number, date, due date
• Line items (description, quantity, unit price, amount)
• Subtotal, tax, total

Receipt model extracts:

• Merchant name, address, phone
• Transaction date, time
• Items with prices
• Subtotal, tax, tip, total

When to use pre-built vs. custom: Use pre-built when your documents match standard formats. Use custom when you have unique document types or need fields not covered by pre-built models.
