3.1. Build Solutions with Azure AI Foundry
💡 First Principle: AI projects share expensive resources (compute, model deployments, connections) but need isolation for different applications. Foundry solves this with a two-level hierarchy: Hubs hold shared, governed resources (like a company's IT infrastructure), while Projects scope individual applications (like departments using that infrastructure). When the exam asks about resource sharing vs. isolation, think: "Shared across apps? → Hub. Specific to one app? → Project."
The hub-and-project hierarchy is essential for understanding how Azure AI Foundry manages resources. Hubs contain shared connections and policies; projects scope individual applications.
| Level | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Hub | Organization-wide shared resources |
| Project | Individual application scope |
