2. Monitoring, Logging, Analysis, Remediation, and Performance Optimization (22%)

This domain is the heart of the CloudOps Engineer role. Everything in Domain 1 — your ability to scale, secure, and automate — depends on being able to see what's happening. Without solid observability, you're flying blind. With it, you can build systems that detect, diagnose, and fix themselves.

This phase maps directly to three exam task areas: implementing metrics and alarms (Task 1.1), identifying and remediating issues (Task 1.2), and optimizing performance (Task 1.3). Performance optimization was its own domain in SOA-C02 but is now consolidated here — expect it to appear in approximately 4–5 questions.
