ServiceNow Certification Exam Prep

ServiceNow organises its credentials into levels. The core level covers running and building on the Now Platform: Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD) and Certified Platform Owner Associate. The implementer level is the Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) family, one exam per product area such as IT Service Management, Customer Service Management, HR Service Delivery or Vulnerability Response. The expert level is the architect track: Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Certified Master Architect (CMA) and Certified CRM Architect.

Most people start with CSA. It is the broadest view of the platform and the credential administrator and developer job postings ask for most often. From there the path depends on the role: CAD for building custom applications, a CIS track for implementing a specific product, and the architect level after years of implementation work. Several CIS exams now require the CIS – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) certification first, so check each exam's blueprint before you plan the order.

Exams are booked through ServiceNow University and delivered by Pearson VUE, at a test centre or online with a remote proctor. Eligibility for most exams is unlocked by completing the matching ServiceNow University course. Mainline certifications are kept current with short delta exams on new platform releases, and a certification maintenance fee applies once you have held a mainline certification for a year.
