8.1.1. Exam Structure and Time Management
First Principle: With 65 questions in 170 minutes, you have approximately 2.6 minutes per question. Efficient time management means knowing when to commit, when to flag, and when to move on.
Time Management Strategy:
| Pass | Questions | Time | Goal |
|---|---|---|---|
| First pass | All 65 | ~130 min (~2 min each) | Answer confidently, flag uncertain |
| Second pass | Flagged only | ~30 min | Review with fresh eyes |
| Final review | High-value flags | ~10 min | Check for errors |
Question Type Strategies:
- Multiple choice: Eliminate 2 distractors, choose from remaining 2
- Multiple response: Identify ALL correct answers first, then eliminate
- Ordering: Establish the first and last steps, then fill in the middle
- Matching: Start with the most distinctive pairs, then work remaining
Pacing Rules:
- If you've spent 3 minutes on a question without progress → flag and move on
- Never change an answer unless you find a specific reason it's wrong
- Always answer every question — no penalty for guessing
⚠️ Exam Trap: The 15 unscored questions are indistinguishable from scored ones. Never try to identify or skip them.
